Overview

Currently, Magic Patterns does not support direct uploads of custom font files. However, if it’s a Google Font or a font hosted on the web, you can use it! Simply reference any Google Font by name in your prompts or preset and Magic Patterns will automatically load and apply it to your design.

Example

Prompt
Use Merriweather font from Google Fonts.

Finding Google Fonts

To explore available fonts:
  1. Visit Google Fonts to browse thousands of free fonts
  2. Preview different fonts and styles
  3. Note the font name (e.g., “Roboto”, “Playfair Display”)
  4. Use that exact name in your Magic Patterns prompt

Using Fonts in Presets

Want to use the same font across multiple designs? Add your font instruction to your preset’s default prompt. Every new design you create with that preset will automatically use your specified font. To set a font in your preset:
  1. Open your preset settings
  2. In the “Default Prompt” field, add your font instruction (e.g., “Use Merriweather font”)
  3. Save your preset
Now every design you create with that preset will automatically use your specified font - no need to mention it in every prompt!
Preset Default Prompt
Use Merriweather font.

Troubleshooting

If your custom font isn’t appearing correctly:
  1. Make sure it’s a Google Font - Check that the font exists on Google Fonts
  2. Check the font name - Make sure you’re using the exact font name from Google Fonts
  3. Be specific in your prompt - Clearly state which font to use
  4. Try regenerating - Sometimes a regeneration helps apply fonts correctly
